About our classes
For both Personal Training and Semi-Personal Training Sessions, each session lasts 25 – 40min and is adjusted to the trainee abilities, needs and goals.
Each trainee gets his/her own notebook for the trainer to record the details of each workout completed and notes about continuing goals, needs and progress.
What is Semi-Personal Training?
Semi-Personal Training is just like Personal Training only for a small, supervised group. The trainees still benefit and progress at their own individual pace with a personal program developed for their individual abilities, goals and needs.

Getting Started
Getting started is simple:
-
Contact us for an interview by phone to be sure we are offering what you are looking for.
-
We schedule a session.
Every workout starts with mobility exercises to warm up followed by a review of the form and technique of the exercises we are going to perform. The short workout follows and ends with stretching. Some workouts will focus on different skills depending on your goals and interests.
Note: The first few workouts don’t push the trainee to his or her “limits” as every effort is made throughout the training program to prevent injuries and harm from overtraining. The trainer will spend a few sessions getting to know you, your abilities and your needs.
FAQ
Isn’t 25 - 45 minutes too short to get a good workout?
No! Insisting on working out for 1 hour is old school. You can achieve great results with a short workout. Our emphasis is on quality and not quantity. The workouts are short but INTENSE---definitely not too easy!
How do I know if those workouts are for me?
Every person has his/her own approach to getting and staying on shape. We respect all methods in our programs. You are welcome to contact us by phone to discuss whether our program is what you are looking for. If you are still not sure, we offer a trial session at a lower fee.
What if we can’t work out at my house?
Then you have a few options:
-
We can work out in the outdoors, for example in a park.
-
We might be able to share a location with one of our other clients.
-
We can also schedule Personal Training or Semi-Personal Training sessions at a great gym called CrossFit Oakland.
What if I don’t have equipment to train with?
No problem! The trainer will bring equipment to the session no matter the location. This may include dumbbells, kettle bells, medicine balls, rings and more...
What if it is too expensive for me?
-
You might try asking some friends to join you in the training. The more people in your group, the lower the per person training fee for you and the others.
-
CrossFit Oakland offers excellent group classes at their facility in North Oakland. Try them out!
